Alexandra Abell, LCSW-C
Alexandra Abell, LCSW-C, is a Trauma-Informed Clinical Social Worker who provides a welcoming atmosphere and implements engaging, evidenced-based, and creative therapeutic methods for children and youth. She values a strong therapeutic alliance and collaboration to encourage realization and growth in an individual’s unique personal strengths, abilities, and potential. Her practice involves an integrative approach that includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, play therapy approaches, and expressive art techniques to meet individual needs. Alexandra is experienced in working with individuals and families, with an extensive therapeutic background for children and adolescents in educational, outpatient, and inpatient hospital settings.
Alexandra was nominated for the 2019 Champion for Children & Youth for having gone beyond the realm of her profession, to improve the lives of children and youth of Harford County. She works with children, youth, and their caregivers to support them with challenges related to life transitions, anxiety, depression, attention deficit-hyperactivity, trauma, emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships, social skills, and self-esteem.
