This training offers a specific focus on conceptualizing complex trauma within the framework of EMDR therapy. Ethical Considerations for Trauma-Informed Care

This training will focus on client centered, trauma-informed work in group and private practice settings. Participants will review professional competence, boundary setting and enforcement, and documentation. Participants will leave with knowledge and resources to improve their mental status exams in initial intake sessions and ongoing therapy sessions, learn how to identify limits of one’s practice, and practice skills in boundary setting and expectations with clients and other professionals.
Training is approved for 3 Category 1 CEs by the Maryland Board of Social Workers.

This training offers an in-depth look at ethical dilemmas that often arise throughout the practice of EMDR therapy. This training is specifically directed towards the EMDR treatment modality, as many ethical decisions occur spontaneously throughout the work with a client. Clinicians should be well informed and always prepared to manage ethical situations as they arise. Throughout this training, we will look at various topics such as boundaries, managing trauma and safe resourcing, dissociation, mandated reporting, and working with other clinicians.

Creative Techniques for the EMDR Therapist

This training offers an in-depth look at creative techniques and the effectiveness of integrating art experientials and EMDR.
EMDR Therapists often look for effective ways to utilize EMDR therapy when working with clients experiencing complex symptoms. Integrating creative techniques throughout the 8 phases of EMDR can provide a sense of safety and support to clients ranging from children, adolescents, and adults. Creative intervention creates a space for clients to express thoughts and emotions through a non-threatening modality. Paired with EMDR, clients are presented a way to process complex trauma with the option of non-verbal communication through the art.
